Rowing Honors

I was stroke seat in the boat that won NJ Scholastic Championships in Novice 4's, with our first year rowing program. Rowed a 5:20 in Stotesbury Senior 4 Division.

Rowing Additional

I started rowing in January of my Junior year, when one of my teacher's was finally able to start a crew team at our school. We worked on the machines for a month and hit the water for the first time ever by the end of March. I was put in the top boat of our school (a four) with 3 people who have had rowing experience. I was the only man without experience, but turned out to be a natural at it and was immediately put in the Stroke seat. After being on the water for about a month, we put our boat in the NJ Scholastic Championships, and I stroked the boat that won in the Novice Division. On May 14th, we put our boat into the Stotesburry Cup Regatta, in the Senior Division (since my boat was the top boat, we went in the tough division to let our weaker boats on weaker competition). Our boat of 1 Senior, 2 Juniors (including me) and 1 Sophomore rowed the 1500m in 5:20.10, beating 12 Senior boats and coming 9.21 seconds away from qualifying for the second round. It was a very exciting feat for our school for a first year team in the Senior Division. Our equipment for the year included a 10 year old boat and a stopwatch (no cox box). Since the end of that season, I have been to two Racing Camps with PIRA (Princeton International Regatta Association)(
