Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I plan to attend an academically selective college and study biology. While I am there studying I would like to continue playing the sport I love. My sister runs cross country and track at Vassar and we have discussed the tightness of her running community. I have always had that type of relationship in junior high and high school and would like to continue it through college.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the field I lead the communication of the defense. I lead by example of hard work, relentlessness and dedication to the team. I am an enthusiastic player who people depend on. These characteristics led my coaches to choose me to be Captain coming into my junior year.

Off the field I am a leader in the classroom. I am an active and enthusiastic participant in class discussion and always complete my work at a high level.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I stick to a regular schedule drinking 2 water bottles of water during school, go to practice, come home to do my homework, eat dinner with the family, shower and go to bed early enough to get a go night's sleep. I get up early some mornings for a lifting workout.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In school I am a tutor and assist my peers with their schoolwork.
Outside of school I help out with the younger kids' lacrosse and football practices and camps. The younger kids like to have the high school players show up and I enjoy helping them to learn and love the sports.
