Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play sports because I love my sport. I love rowing and I would love to continue playing it in college. I would love to play for a college team and to be the best athlete I can be. I know that I have the determination and persistence and the love for rowing to play for a college. I have been a student athlete for an extended amount of time and I know that I can balance my grades and free time and rowing and making sure that I'm performing my best I can.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

With rowing, although I haven't been rowing for very long I try my best to help with leading my boat and my team with conditioning and morally being there for my team members. When someone makes a mistake on the boat, I try to help and boost their self esteem and not let them get down on themselves. When I'm not rowing, I help to give advice and help to the flute section of the band. I'm auditioning as section leader for the marching band as well.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by balancing my time well. I make sure to make sure that I'm spending enough time with rowing and enough time with my grades and also having enough time to get healthy amounts of sleep and still have free time to spend time with friends and help out with the school and community. I also am very specific and focused on keeping a healthy diet to keep my body in prime condition so I do not deal with injuries very often.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I participate in a fundraiser to help raise money for my local recreation center and have also gone and sang at local retirement homes to the elderly during Christmas time. I also helped with a bingo night to raise money for my high school. I also volunteered at a local haunted house to help raise money for them. I also visited the elementary and middle schools to help the students of their band with their concert music. I joined with my interact club to make lunches to be given to the homeless and to be given to the local churches. I also spent several weeks planting flowers and other plants to decorate the middle school along with helping with the new recycling program.
