Personal Highlights

I also wrestle during the winter. I am a two time state qualifier so far in my high school career, and was 3rd at the Colorado State Wrestling Championships in February.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love playing golf, and I would like to continue playing while earning my college degree. My brother is also a college golfer, and I have watched how "Golf" has made his college experience a better experience. I want that type of experience too.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been a team captain for both our Valor golf team and wrestling team. Our school has very high expectations when it comes to behavior on and off campus. I regularly steer teammates away from making poor decisions on the weekends. I try to set an example that my teammates can follow. In the classroom, I work hard at being a good student and encouraging my teammates to do the same. Our coach would like us to be on the All State Academic team, and I feel my efforts encourage other to work hard in the classroom as well.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Sports offer a person so much more than the opportunity to play it. It is important that an athlete take away with them the attributes that high school athletics has to offer them, like team work, humility, perseverance, character, work ethic, and sacrifice. If a high school athlete is only into winning and the score, than he leaves behind great life lessons.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Each year I take a mission trip Mexico with my family to build houses. I have done this for the past 12 years, and I see myself continuing to do so. I can see that giving time towards helping others should be a common occurrence in our lives, it keeps you grounded and appreciative of the blessings you do have.
