I have been following the US College meets online and am inspired by the achievements of so many of your athletes, both in middle distance and in the sprints. I aspire to compete at a high level and be surrounded by athletes who work hard. There really isn't the same depth of competition here in Australia once you graduate from high school. Our universities do not have a college sports competition. There also is no competition here in the Winter at all (no indoor competition exists).
To both achieve my goals academically and athletically, I need to be in an environment such as the US College system.
The enjoyment I get from training as a squad and in particular competing and experiencing not just mine, but my training partners successes is what has gotten me addicted to the sport and so, I would love to continue my athletic career in the US.
Vice Captain of Henderson House at Trinity Grammar School.
I see a professional Nutritionist once a month, for testing and guidance. I am on her dietary plan for training and for race days.
Additionally I aim to get about 8 hours of sleep minimum per night.
I work out in the school gym twice a week under the guidance of my middle distance coach, to develop my body in the appropriate way for middle distance to complement my training and help in injury prevention.
