Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Upon receiving the opportunity to participate in swimming at the collegiate level would be an incredible opportunity for me. I want to swim in college because swimming is what I love and it is what I am good at. Although I do know that their is still so much more to accomplish and the idea of continuing my athletic career will allow me to see all that I can accomplish. Being able to swim in college will enable me to become the swimmer that I have dreamed of being, that swimmer is one who works hard to improve and loves working hard to achieve her goals. The chance to swim in college will help me to maintain a positive physical outlook on life.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As a memeber of my club swim team as well as my high school swim team I undergo many responsibilities for my team, from planning team events to providing words of encouragement in and out of the pool to my teammates. Being a leader to both of my teams is very important to me because I am able to help others and become a person my teammates can come to for guidance, and that is a very warming feeling.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As an athlete maintaining a healthy lifestyle is very important to me as I consider my future. Starting with nutrition I aim to eat as healthy as possible throughout the day, avoiding unhealthy food habits, as well as drinking plenty of water before during and after practice. I also strive to achieve a healthy mindset by thinking positively, using healthy determination techniques to help me strive to be a better athlete without destroying my confidence. Keeping myself busy throughout the year with schoolwork helps to keep me motivated throughout the swim season as I am continually striving to maintain good grades as well as improvements to my athletic foundation. My main goal at the end of each day is to feel healthy both physically and mentally.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Over the past 3 summers I have involved myself more in the swimming community by volunteering my time to educate adolescent swimmers through summer swim team at my local pool as well as providing swim lessons for beginners. Through these opportunities I have opened my mind and my heart to discover the love that i have for swimming. I enjoy spending time with others and watching their love for the sport grow as well.
