Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love each and every aspect of rowing. It keeps me and pushes me to be in excellent shape, I get to socialize, interact, and create friendships with my teammates and coaches, I get to experience things and go places that without this sport I would not have been able to do and see, and the competition part as well as having it push me to constantly improve help guide me to make the right choices on and off the water. It is because of all of these things that I've experienced in high school rowing, that I wish to continue and elevate myself to the next level which is college rowing.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

In the field of rowing, I have held my teammates accountable to improve our times on the ergs. I have done this by advocating for an entire team group chat to have team workouts which involve weights, running, core, and of course erging. This is not only me leading the way but I have been pushing my other senior teammates to help me push our whole team instead of trying to do everything by myself. It is because of this that I believe my team will be exponentially better next season. Outside of rowing, I have volunteered in numerous events but the ones I feel as though I have best displayed my leadership have been through teaching at my church and reding at my local elementary school.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

In this day and age, it is easy to get caught up in the allure of doing drugs or alcohol and I have persevered and I can honestly claim that I have done neither. Aside from that given of not doing illegal things that many teenagers do, I eat healthy by watching my diet and although not all the time, staying away from bad foods. I'm also a very active person who loves exercise. I play basketball too which helps me keep my healthy lifestyle.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
