Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited because I love tennis. I know that playing a sport in college is like a full time job, but I am willing to put in the work. I would also love to play in college for the more competitive competition and the team atmosphere that comes with it.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have had the opportunity to be my team Captan this year. In this position I have had to use leadership all along the way. I had to be the person in charge of bringing the team together, ordering uniforms and t-shirts, as well as helping out whenever possible. I think that this proves that I can be a leader on and off the court because these things that I have learned by being Captan showed me what it truly means to be a leader.
Another chance I have had to be a leader is with my church. I am the president of the Laurel class. Which is all the girls that are my age in my church. I am in-charge of giving lessons planning activities and looking out for girls that need a friend.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I have worked very hard to get to the place were I am in tennis. I started playing in 8th grade and I was not very good at tennis. My freshman year I was only number 19 on the team. Each off season I would train at least once or twice a week and I would make sure I stayed in shape. This year is my senior year and I am now First Varsity Singles. This proves that I have what it takes to be a good athleate because I am willing to put in the work. Right now I am not as high as I would like to be in the USTA rankings but I am currently working on getting more wins and bringing my ranking up.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I love serving my community. For the past 6 years I have put in over 150 volunteer hours towards a local arts fair called Summer Fest. I also have had numerous opportunities to serve my community threw my church group. In freshman year I was able to help fundraise for and go on a trip to Guatemala to help give business classes to the people there. I also had the opportunity to help direct and support an elementary school orchestra for the past 3 years. I was able to learn patience and help students learn the art of playing in an orchestra. I was able to help a foundation called the "Little Lambs Foundation" and help wrap and collect Christmas presents for children in need. There are so many other activities that I have done for service. I know that I was able to learn skills that will help me in the future to become a better team player and a quick learner.
