2018 Dive Captain
In 2015, I placed 6th in districts and 25th in state. In 2016, I placed 7th in districts and 24th in the state. In 2017, I placed 5th in districts and 20th in state.
I want to be recruited because I believe that after high school, my diving career will not be complete. I am not the best diver, but I am working hard to become stronger and I am improving every day. I would also like to experience college in a team/family environment that will keep me on track and in shape.
I am currently the captain of the dive team because I show interest in the other athletes and I communicate well. I am also a member of the leadership class at my school in which we put on all of the events and create an atmosphere that is more accepting and inclusive.
As a student athlete, I pursue "healthy athletic performance" by focusing on school first and diving second. I also lift weights and play softball in the of season to stay in shape and get stronger for both sports. This also keeps me out of trouble which is crucial to being a student-athlete.
Each year, I volunteer to be a counselor at a baseball camp in the summer where we teach elementary and middle schoolers how to play softball and baseball. I also volunteered this summer teaching kids with special needs how to ride horses through the program Courageous Connections. Around thanksgiving each year, my leadership class/school gives back food and money we raise and collect to families in need in our community. My class also puts on a dance and dinner for the senior citizens within our community each winter. These activities are important to me because I enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself. I also enjoy the relationships I can make with the people I help and I love hearing their stories.
