Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Volleyball wasn't available as a sport until High School. This means that I have only been playing about two and a half years. I believe that I can still make tremendous strides. I also think it's a great way to continue playing the sport while getting assistance with scholarships.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I will always give 100% in practice and in matches, this helps encourage my teammates to physically push themselves. In my position (Middle Blocker) there is often times where serve receive may be struggling and I can't make a difference physically. This pushes me to be a leader by encouraging my teammates and helping their mentality. Off the court, I am focused on Academics, extracurriculars. I have never had "off the court problems", many coaches have admired my focus on Volleyball year round and my ability to encourage my teammates to follow my lead and focus on Academics and put in work towards the upcoming seasons.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue a "healthy athletic performance" by working year round. Whenever I am in the season I focus on what I need to directly get better at. During the off-season, I focus on what I need to work on physically to put myself in better physical shape to accomplish my goals. I apply this to my academics as well. During the school year I work hard but even on breaks I still to test prep to keep sharp for my ACTs and SATs.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am very invloved in the community. As stated earlier I am the Vice President of Student Council, the council itself spends a lot of time giving back through fundraisers, soup kitchens and other volunteer work that we plan. Outside of school, I am very involved through my church as well as on my own. The service that I give to the community is incredibly important because I know that my life is so much more than being just a student and an athlete, everything we off the court in the form of giving back is what really makes a difference in life.
