Personal Highlights

Besides rowing crew, I play cello at my school and am involved in clubs including Medical Club, Spanish Honors Society and Environmental Club

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I truly love the competition and the drive to be as physically fit as possible, but equally important is the opportunity to develop friendships that will exist beyond the sport.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Upper Arlington Youth Leadership Program: Selected by school faculty to represent Jones Middle School as one of the student representatives for a 1 day Youth Leadership seminar sponsored by the school district. (2016)

Selected as Captain of the Varsity Crew Team by team vote. (2019)

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

While I am a vegetarian I pay careful attention to my diet, with a focus on adequate intake of protein and healthy calories, and I actively encourage other team members to follow the same plan. I believe my athletic performance is linked not only to physical training but also stretching, mindfulness and a healthy attitude towards life. This includes a focus on academics and making sure that it is balanced with athletics, as well as ensuring adequate sleep. Like all my teammates I pledged to avoid alcohol and drugs and I have been entirely compliant with that promise.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Columbus Food Bank: Volunteered to help stock and distribute food at a local food bank. (2018)

Learn To Row: Volunteered to assist in teaching middle school students and adults interested in learning how to row for both recreation and competition. (2018)

NPH Guatemala: Volunteered for participation in 1 week immersion trip to perform community service at a Guatemalan orphanage and school. (June 2019)
