I would love to be recruited for college because it would give me an opportunity to help out my mother. She is a single parent who didn't graduate from high school and she has 4 kids. She is barely making a living just living paycheck to paycheck. I have promised my mom many, many times that I would go to college and help her have the life she deserves. I don't come from a background with any money because I am a child of an immigrant, so getting anything to help me pay for college and excel would be extremely fantastic.
Besides being my school's first black female wrestler, I have cultivated a team of all girls and created my school's all-girls wrestling team. I'm also a member of my school's GSA, BSU, and LSU clubs to stand up for what I believe in. I'm also a member of my school's music appreciation club for punk and heavy metal music. I have a job and I give my mother money when we are short on bills, food, or anything else.
I have managed a relatively good wrestling career, I also have a 3.8 GPA. I have a job, I get paid around minimum wage and I try my very best to help out my family because we are just barely getting by living from paycheck to paycheck.
I volunteer every year at the Malibu Triathlon, it's important to me to know that I am giving back to the children in need and helping out others keep on going. I am also a tutor and I help at my school's at home football games to help out the football team and take the hassle off of the parents working to see their kids play whether it be on Varsity or JV.
