Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

One way that I have shown by leadership off the field and in the community is by volunteering. Before she closed it, every summer I would volunteer at my Grandma's daycare and help her take care of all the children. A way that I show my leadership on the field is by staying calm and taking action when needed. Taking action meaning calling out what I need (such as "crash" and where the ball is). Another way I've taken action on the field is, when there has been a goal, talking with defense about what we can do next time to prevent it.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

To pursue healthy athletic performance, I make sure to maintain a healthy diet and stay on top of time management to ensure the fact that I will have time to complete homework while also being able to go to practices and matches/tournaments without having to worry that we'll get back too late for me to do my homework. I often accomplish this by bringing my work to competitions so I will be able to work on it while neither my team or myself are on the mat.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
