Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Since my freshman year of high school, I have been a three sport athlete. Even though, it can be stressful at times balancing school with practice and games it's always kept me grounded and I enjoy having something to do. I love being able to take a step away from school and be able to play with my teammates and be able to laugh and make memories. To add on, I am a very competitive person and enjoy competing and pushing myself to the best of my capabilities. I think continuing sports at the college level will help me live a active lifestyle and be able to meet new people and travel to new places. Furthermore, I truly love the sport of tennis and want to see how I can improve myself as a player!

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

During tennis, I was try to stay positive and learn from each of my mistakes. I always encourage my teammates to do the same and keep their heads up when they are down during a match. In addition, I always include all players weather junior varsity or varsity because in the end we are one team and everyone makes a contribution. Furthermore, engaging in my teammates lives outside of tennis and just talking to them whether during season or out of season is always essential when being a leader.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Eating healthy is something that is always on my mine. Before matches I watch what I eat and always try to eat foods that will fuel my body and not district me from my game. I also always get my homework done and get a good amount of sleep as that is essential when school is a top priority so I can be eligible to play.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Currently as a graduation requirement, all seniors have to do a senior exit project that either benefits the community or involves personal growth. I choose to make wreaths for the elderly living in an assisted living facility in my area. In addition to the wreaths, I am volunteering my time to just do activities with them on Sundays. I think it's really important to socialize with the elder and make their day bright. You can always learn a lot from them and since I aspire to be a nurse I get a glimpse of what my future my be!
