Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to row in college because I want to be able to be a part of something larger than myself in a team, and I want to represent the school I attend in a more significant way than an average student.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

In rowing, I serve as a leader for my other teammates by trying to always go over and beyond what is expected. Two to three times a week, I come to practice early to try and get in 10-20 extra minutes of steady state on the erg. Additionally, I believe I serve as a leader by being in my club's best boat, a coxed four, as only a junior. Outside of rowing, I am a martial arts sensei, and I serve as a leader and teacher for over 300 students.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance as a student-athlete by trying to budget my time accordingly so I can get all of my school work done, attend practice daily, and get a decent amount of sleep.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In school, I am a member of math honor society. The other members of this club and I help math teachers once a week during their extra help by helping to tutor their students. In addition to this, I am involved in a club called Ignite, which is a freshman mentorship program. Once a month I meet with three freshmen who were assigned to me at the beginning of the year, and I help them with any questions or concerns they may have about high school and help to spread my knowledge of the school.
