Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love running and have been doing it on my own for years, I come from a small school that doesn't take running very seriously so I've taken it upon myself to "train" myself down the dirt roads behind my house every afternoon. I would love to be on a running team with people that take it as serious as I do and see how much more I can improve.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
