Baseball Additional

People say I play baseball with a linebacker's mentality. Catching requires toughness and focus, seeing the field well and knowing what to do at all times. I try my best to contribute in whatever way my coach and team need from me. I stay physically fit so that I am able to be strong, consistent and productive late in games when it often counts the most.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I enjoy the feeling of working hard with a group of guys toward a goal, and want this to continue. I've played organized baseball since I was 6 years old, and I always enjoy facing tougher competitors each year. I've generally "played up" and had the opportunity to face older guys, which makes it more challenging, so the next step would be to continue in College.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

In past years, I have been a team captain. As a catcher, we handle every pitch during a game, and help our coaches and pitchers execute batter-by-batter strategy on the field. Off the field, I take an active role in community base activities as a volunteer.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I live a healthy lifestyle and stay fit, working out regularly. In 2019 and 2020, I've been training at 220 Second to None Baseball Academy, under the direction of a former MLB Catcher, who is a mentor. Athletics help me develop and maintain positive social relationships, understanding the importance of putting team above myself, and learning how to take direction from coaches & teachers.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

INTERACT Club, in which we participate in numerous volunteer activities in our community throughout each school year. HERO campaign, as a participant in annual fund raising walkathons. I like doing things that help others, and raising money for good causes.
