Personal Highlights

I am the first-string Face Off Specialist for Westerville South High School's varsity lacrosse team. I have been playing lacrosse since the 5th-grade. I am studying engineering at the Delaware Area Career Center. I worked as a youth official for US Lacrosse during the spring, 2018.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I would like to be recruited to play sports in college because I have found that playing sports helps me stay focused on being my personal best which translates to my academics. I enjoy the camaraderie of being involved in a team sport and I like to be constantly challenged.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

This past spring, I worked as a youth official for US Lacrosse. I officiated over a dozen games. For the past three years, I have volunteered with the local club, Westerville Lacrosse Club, when they need older athletes to help run their beginner clinics. This past year, I personally recruited a friend to play on the high school lacrosse team. Throughout the summer, I worked with him on almost a daily basis teaching him the rules of the game and basic lacrosse skills.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student-athlete, I try to pursue healthy athletic performance by making sure I stay active on a daily basis by either lifting weights, working on my cardio, or working on my stick, shooting or response skills. I also try to eat a balanced diet and get the necessary rest needed to feel my best.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I was in Boy Scouts for several years and achieved the rank of Star before leaving when I reached high school. My mother is a school librarian and always has service opportunities available for me to perform including installing five Little Free Libraries at neighborhood schools, helping with book fairs and helping with after-school events. I take advantage of many service opportunities with my lacrosse team including helping the Westerville Lacrosse Club with skills camps for younger players (twice for a total of 10 hours) and helping box food during the holidays for Westerville Caring and Sharing (2 hours).
