Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Rowing has been a big part of my life for the past 2 and a half years, and it's made me a better person. It keeps me busy and in shape, as well as focused on the important things in life. I believe that rowing in college will keep me on this track and will keep me in the right mindset to get good grades. I know that college will free up my time, and rowing will for sure keep me focused on school.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the water I think it's important to listen to the coxswain and become a part of the team, instead of trying to stand out. On the water I keep quiet when I need to, and am always improving myself. Off the water, I am always helping other people and telling the other rowers what needs to get done. I am one of the more experienced athletes, and know what has to be done, so I always am telling others what they need to do to help, as well as provide help for the team myself.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Recently I have started a food log, and I am always keeping track of what I eat to make sure I am healthy. I need to make sure that I am eating enough to keep up with my workouts, but I stay away from sweets as much as possible. I work out every day of the week except for Sundays, and I make sure to get enough sleep every night. I am a strong believer in healthy body healthy mind, and I know that it's important for me to stay well rested, fed, and strong.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in 3 volunteer service clubs and am running a bone marrow drive with a team of my friends. I feel strongly about working towards the cure for cancer, and one of these clubs help fund children with childhood cancer, and the bone marrow drive supports those with Leukemia. I volunteer once a month at the Coventry food pantry, and every summer help collect cans at my swim club. I think it's very important to give back to the community, especially since I am very fortunate in how I grew up.
