2017 SRAA Nationals -- Freshman 8 -- Stroke seat-- 13th overall (05:40.199)
Freshman year I stroked the Freshman 8 the entire season and we qualified and then competed at Nationals. Sophomore year I volunteered to teach middle school aged kids about rowing. Junior year I joined glee club, Spanish Honors Society, and Art Therapy club. I also earned the opportunity to go compete at Head of the Charles where we finished 20th out of 85.
Rowing is a major part of my life and I have met many great people through the sport. Also, I feel that I haven't hit my peak yet and I want to improve as a rower past high school. I want to row in college as an outlet to meet people and as a way to be the best rower I can be.
I try to balance my school life and crew life. Crew is an outlet to school and school is an outlet to crew. I know my limits and know when school needs to be put before crew. With crew and the stress that comes with high school, I regularly see a math tutor to help be with the balance.
I am involved in multiple clubs where we regularly volunteer in service events. I have volunteered at churches, camps, nursing homes, and more. I enjoy volunteering because I like seeing how it affects others. I like knowing that I was the one to bring happiness and hope to an elderly man, or a young child.
