Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to cox in college because I fell in love with this spot and it has made me who I am as a person. I have learned so much from the people and coaches, as well as learning about myself and what it takes to be a leader. Overall just learning how to command respect. I was skeptical about the sport at first but it changed my life for the better.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Being a coxswain means being a leader. Doing everything I can to make sure my boys and I are safe and successful on the water is part of that big role. Even if I am not in a boat with some of the boys on the team I try to encourage them as well. I raced in a coxswain erg competition to gain their respect my novice year. When the novice coach could not be present at practice, I had to step up to the plate and make sure the boys continued to work and improve.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
