I am a consistent player. Below are a few highlights which demonstrate this.
VARSITY JUNIOR Year: 387 Digs, 535 Serve Receptions with only 24 errors (95.5%)
1 on the team in Digs, #1 in Serve Receptions, #1 in Service Points and #4 in Aces (but others had many more errors.)
HURON VALLEY VOLLEYBALL CLUB
HAIFIVE CLUB (56-3 for 16U season)
GRASS/SAND LEAGUES & TOURNAMENTS
I play in some adult leagues so I can improve my ability to read hard driven balls and to raise the level of my play.
I would like to contribute defensively to a volleyball program and also have an immediate social support system in place as I transition to college life. In volleyball I have always challenged myself. I enjoy trying to dig skilled adults in tournaments. I know I am not the best libero out there, but playing in college would further develop me as a player.
I was involved in the program to welcome new high school students. I strive to be an example in consistent playing in all volleyball skills to encourage others and demonstrate how this determination can help win important matches.
I have also been a softball pitcher and kept on playing as long as I could. It is important to be as well rounded athletically in this era of laser focus on a single sport. In volleyball an athlete often learns only one position. My strength is defense, but my years of playing doubles/quads in sand and grass has allowed me to be an all around player. In 9th grade, my club coach used me part of the season as a left side hitter and in varsity I helped the team by playing right side. This experience has helped me an even better defensive player.
I help out in service projects at church and through the church. I always walk for the Crop Hunger Walk.
