Drive Chip and Putt National Finals - 3rd Place Boys 14-15
I am currently a Senior at Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN. I want to be recruited because I want to keep playing competitive sports into college. I consider myself a very competitive person, and I don't want that to end after high school. I would like to play the highest level of golf that I can. I have a lot of fun with golf right now, and I really enjoy having friends and teammates that play beside me, so I don't want to halt that career at the end of high school. I would like to pursue both an academic and a golf scholarship. My game is improving quickly. The strength of my game is my consistency and all around skills, especially my short game. I expect to excel as a college athlete, especially if my game improves with extra distance and greater accuracy.
I've demonstrated leadership in ways uncountable. I was co-captain of my high school golf team as a sophomore and again (this year) as a junior. I'm always the one on the golf team to get everyone excited to go out and shoot their best round, to have fun, and to play smart. At meets I consider myself to be the one that gets everyone hyped. Off the course, I provide a lot of energy for the cross country team as well. I may not be the best runner, but I'm the best at making other people run the fastest.
I stay healthy by running a lot. I run on the cross country team in the fall, and I'll run with teammates in the off-season as much as possible. However, living in Minnesota makes it hard to run (and golf!) year-round. My friends from school go the gym to lift weights about once a week for the past few months to get "gainz." I eat as healthy food as my picky mouth will allow me to. However, I do snack often.
I spent several summers volunteering for a city park program where I had to direct younger kids and watch over them. I led activities and made sure the kids had fun with it. This was an all day program with lots of kids of different ages.
I have also done some volunteering at fundraising activities at local restaurants. I see the value of giving back and helping the community.
