Personal Highlights

I attended the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in July of 2019 and was an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for the first ever all girls troop from central, western, and eastern United States. My responsibilities included managing the logistics of the troop like the patrols planning and cooking the meals, overseeing uniforms, making sure the camp was presentable, and making sure we all followed the Scouts BSA oath and law. The highlight of the trip was meeting the very first time a few days before the Jamboree and receiving compliments from the National Executives about how well the troop was run.

I am the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of my Scouts BSA troop at home and the Senior Patrol Leader of my Girl Scout troop. I have done Girl Scouts since I was 7 and Scouts BSA since it became open to girls this spring. I am working on my Gold Award project which I anticipate to be done in the fall of 2019.

I have done many sports growing up like skating, soccer, archery, softball, tennis, and swimming but love swimming the most so I decided to follow that dream. I transfered to Pointe Aquatics in the spring of 2018 and have dropped a considerable amount of time and become a better athlete. The 400 IM is one of my favorite events and I hope to continue swimming that in meets.

I love being outdoors in the woods and doing outdoor activities like camping and shooting. I have two Siberian Huskies at home and one of them has a bad foot. It made it harder for him growing up and I have taken care of him so he has influenced my decision even further to become a veterinarian. I have always wanted to be a veterinarian since I was a little kid and I am looking for a college that will help me not only swim, but also further my career in veterinary sciences.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Being an athlete will help me stay focused and balanced with my academics. I love to compete in swimming and challenge myself to do better in my life.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Senior Patrol Leader local Girl Scout Troop 50148; Founder Scouts BSA female troop 315 and now Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of the troop; Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for USA 433 multi region troop for the World Scout Jamboree.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

To me, healthy athletic performance includes not just athletics but every aspect of a balanced life. I work with my coaches not only about my physical conditioning, but also nutrition, mental preparedness and visualization, avoidance of drugs/alcohol and negative influences. Stress management is an important piece of balancing physical and emotional strains on the body.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
