Volleyball is one of my greatest passions! I want to continue to compete at a high level to feed that passion and to improve as an athlete. In addition, I am the type of person that needs to stay busy in order to be content with my life. I believe a student-athlete at a challenging college would suit that personality trait well.
During my sophomore year, as a key player, I helped lead our team to a state championship. In addition I have supported and encouraged younger athletes that were advanced to our varsity team late in the season. Off the volleyball court (as a player), I have coached 4th and 5th grade volleyball players.
I strive to maintain a healthy athletic performance both physically, mentally and spiritually. Physically I attempt to take the best care of my body as possible with plenty of sleep, fluids and healthy foods. Mentally, I have found it is important to keep positive, influential people close to me that show support and encouragement towards my goals. This helps me to maintain a good attitude towards my school work and on the volleyball court. Spiritually, I rely on my religious beliefs as a Christian and work to deepen my faith on a regular basis.
I volunteer as a recreational volleyball coach for 4th and 5th graders. I have also volunteered in a local child care center. I feel volunteering is an important way to serve the community. In 2017, I achieved the presidential service scholar award by volunteering for more than 100 hours.
