There is no "I" in team, together we are a whole, and I fully understand that. I'm easy to work with and take pride in my team and my commitment to respect, integrity, and honoring the game. I don't look as losing a game as a loss, but as a chance to learn and do better. Hard work pays off, every day.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I make a difference on and off the field in being a team player and leader when needed. I hope some day to play in the NFL and know regardless I need an education. Coming from a big family, we definitely need the financial help with scholarships and I feel that I can make any team proud of having me on their roster. I love the sport and look forward to my future!

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Everyone is equal on and off the field, regardless of what position you play or whether you are a starter or not. On the field as a middle linebacker I have a job to do and make sure everyone on the line knows what to do and who to block so that we can work together. On the sidelines I always talk to everyone and keep the team positive and energetic. I was raised with the understanding that no one is left behind, and I live that motto every day no matter where I am. I try to inspire others to live this way as well and step up when needed, as I am a big advocate against bullying.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I work out every day, at least 2 hours a day. I weight train 5 days a week, cardio 2 days a week and Karate (2 years now) 2 days a week for 2-3 hours each lesson. I eat healthy all the time and take care of my body. After workouts I continue to take care of myself and make sure I'm always hydrated, vitamins, electrolytes, protein and carbs when needed. (I do love chocolate bars, I admit I sneak those every now and then)

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am always helping the seniors in our neighborhood with whatever they need. I help them take care of their lawns at no charge, take their trash in and out and shovel when it snows. My family helps to feed the needy, too, and we work together to make sure those that don't have a meal get a warm one. We do a lot of volunteer work during the holidays to help those less fortunate out. It's important to me because my parents work hard but always are helping others. I respect that a lot and it makes me happy to see others we help happy. My mom always says we can make a difference in the world and we are, every day, when we make other people smile. It's the little things that a lot of people take for granted that are really appreciated by the people that need it.

I read somewhere that a lion never has to roar and people know it's strength. That hit home for me because it's so true. I don't believe in bragging or showing off, maybe that's a quality that...
