Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I feel that playing a sport in college along with the academics provides an overall college experience. In order to do both, you are required to be dedicated, organized and driven - all of which I feel I'm destined to achieve.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I'm vocal on the bench and on the field always giving encouragement, guidance and support to my teammates. There are times when things don't go your way. Maybe it's a bases loaded 3rd out or a fielding error. I think my support and encouragement lets my teammates know that I'm behind them no matter what because putting blame isn't productive to anyone.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Physically I work out with a personal trainer for overall fitness twice a week. I have been working on velocity training twice a week and batting practice 1-2 times a week. As a student, I balance the athletics and classroom with equal dedication.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
  • Volunteer/Junior Coach: Mercer Bulldogs Special Ice Hockey Program
  • Member of the St. David the King Church BOLD Youth Ministry
  • School clubs: African-American Club, Catholic Athletes for Christ, Student Ambassador, Take2 (transfer students club)

These are important to me because it let’s me give back, learn from others and feel a sense of helping others.
