I recently placed 2nd in the woman’s 1x virtual midwest!
First off I've played many sports and absolutely no sport has a team bond like rowing, and being on a team makes me feel full! Secondly, I honestly love to improve myself and rowing always allowing me to get better and build up muscle. Finally, I'm really competitive and racing gives me this burst of energy, so I don't want to stop after high school. I would like to continue it for as long as possible.
Being an athlete I always try to be a leader and a good influence on my teammates. In rowing, I always cheer on my teammates, no matter what. At the 2020 St. John's ergatta, I coxed one of my teammates, minutes before I had my race. She needed a coxswain and I was there, while I may not be an actual coxswain, I will always steep when something is needed. Outside of rowing, I'm on the executive board of my school newspaper(I'm the Media Editor). I'm constantly helping out people with anything newspaper related. One example of my ability to lead is there were two girls in my class who needed didn't know what to do, so I decided to invite them over to my house and I gave them ideas and that night we successfully completed a few stories.
As a student-athlete, I try to pursue a healthy athletic performance, by eating healthy meals, drinking lots of water, limiting caffeine and "junk" food, and finally pushing myself to my limits.
I volunteer for the Toledo Zooteen Program, I have around 250 volunteer hours. I got these hours from going on conservation projects, on the ground at the zoo, summer camps, the sunshine home, picnics, TerraCycle, snoozes, and so much more! These efforts are important to me because I like to know that I made a difference, and put smiles on people's faces.
