Swimming Honors

I hold 7 school records at Tahoma High School and won the Washington State 4A Championship in the 50 freestyle. I also finished 5th in the state in the 100 fly after only swimming the 100 fly 9 times in my life. I just recently found that this is a good event for me.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I enjoy the academic, athletic and work balance and am ready to move to the next level as a student and an athlete. My goal is to work less and study and swim more as I pursue a college degree. I am looking for possible swim scholarships.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am a lifeguard at Covington Aquatic Center and am the captain of the swim team at Tahoma High School.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

In the past few years I have participated in only high school sports while going to school and working. In the next year, I will cut down on work hours to swim for a local swim club. Our high school swim practice is 1.5 hours a day for three months. I know that with an extended practice, I will be able to swim much faster in the longer events.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have been a lifeguard at the Covington Aquatic Center for almost 2 years. I help to raise money for free or reduced swimming lessons for local kids. I am the captain of the swim team at Tahoma High School where I have helped fundraise, plan team activities, and mentor the younger swimmers. I love to be a part of serving the community through swimming.
