As I am newer to rowing, and have just started racing, I do not have many results to post yet, but I am racing consistently now and cannot wait to add some to my resume!

selected for a program training with the Radio City Rockettes each summer (one of only three minors selected for my session) starting 2017
I want to be recruited to row in college because it would mean the world to me. Although I came late to the athletic world, I have found that I love the competition and constantly trying to improve my scores, technique, and overall fitness. There is no better feeling than PR-ing and knowing you gave it your all. Therefore, I would love to continue this sport to the next level. Furthermore, I come from an athletic family with amazing success in their respective fields and I would feel honored to have the opportunity to continue the legacy and prove to myself what I am capable of.
Because I am so often in a single, I sometimes help newer scullers and give them advice when they first attempt a single, or sculling in general, for that matter. This led to one of my coaches unofficially deeming me the "sculling captain." I have also led land workouts before and after practices.
Not only do I row, but I am also involved in both dance and advanced show choir in the national championship group. In choir, I often help lead rehearsals and clean choreography acting as a dance captain, if you will. I have also worked with choreographers to discuss what kind of choreography and movement patterns would be most efficient to both perform and to make groups look good as a whole. Additionally, I help many of the girls with hair and make up for shows and competitions in addition to providing private and group sessions to help with choreography for both choir and dance.
In order to pursue healthy athletic performance, I make it a habit to pay attention to what I eat and how it makes me feel while trying to stay as clean as possible. Though I do not label myself with any particular diet, I pay attention to what things don't necessarily agree with me and try to avoid them (and vise versa). For example, I have noticed that oatmeal settles extremely well on my stomach so I have that almost everyday especially if I have a race or a particularly hard workout planned while tomatoes trigger some reflux while working out so I tend to avoid them. . Furthermore, I also like cross training. In addition to the usual lifting, erging, biking, etc, I also take Pilates classes in order to strengthen my core and smaller muscle groups.
At my school, I am a part of the Save the Beach Club which works with local middle schools, elementary schools, and preschools providing "outreach" programs, talks, videos, and games in order to emphasize the importance of taking care of the environment. In the club, we also go to regular beach clean ups on Saturdays. This is important to be, as I have seen first hand all the negative affects of a polluted beach environment. Between rowing, fishing, and surfing I have seen so much and have researched further implication on my own.
