I am the president of MAC Scholars a student-led program aimed at improving the academic achievement of African American students, I am member of the One Bison Diversity Committee, aimed at celebrating diversity and promoting school unity, I also serve as a Team lead on the Beachwood High School Leadership Committee, I serve on the Student Council Executive Cabinet, my goal is to be an active voice for change while striving to change the things I can no longer accept.
I am an active member of SAY Student Leadership Council an interactive student group that develops campaigns on a variety of topics affecting teens today, including raising awareness on social and political issues.
I am also a member of Jack and Jill an African American organization formed during the Great Depression, by African American mothers with the idea of bringing together children in a social and cultural environment. I also enjoy spending time with family, traveling, playing volleyball and exploring new cultures along while building my own natural product line Brown Girl Natural Beauty. I am an active member of Calvary Church of God in Christ.
I would like to be recruited to play Volleyball in college due to my true love, passion and commitment for the game. I am relentless in my commitment to play and willing to accept the neccesary scarfices to play volleyball in college. Through my years of playing both high school, and Junior Olympic volleyball I've learned the key components of the game. I've learned how to be a team player on and off of the court along with understanding a passers and hitters perspective of the game.
I am a well-rounded student that shows leadership qualities daily. I am the Secretary for the American Sign Language (ASL) program at my High school. The ASL program educates and provides awareness and advocacy for the hearing impaired community in and outside of the school. In addition, I hold the position as President of the Minority Achievement Committee (MAC) of high school scholars. I serve on the Student Council Executive Cabinet for the 2018-2019 school year, I work with the incoming freshman as a Link Leader to ensure their success, as an Ambassador for the Leadership Conference where we create a weekend-long event inspired to find one's inner leader. I have also been the captain of my High School Volleyball team for three years. Due to my leadership skills both on and off of the court, I am truly confident that I am the embodiment of the kind of student who would thrive on your campus.
As a student athlete I maintain a healthy diet in season and out of season, along with a consistent workout plan in order to keep my body and mind in shape. Also being a student athlete I strive to have effective time management skills and utilize effective resources to help assist in my studies along with personal training to be successful.
I am involved in service in my community by participating in different clubs and organizations such as SAY which is a student leadership group. We go around the community and help sort medical supplies, make hats for the homeless, play with autistic children, etc. I am also apart of the American Sign Language club where we advocate for the hearing impaired within our community. All of these efforts are so important to me because I enjoy helping others who may be in need of my help. Helping within the deaf community is also very important to me because I would like to minor in American Sign Language to continue to advocate for the deaf.
