3rd Place US Rowing U17 Nationals U17 Women’s 4 Camden, NJ June 2019
I may be 5’5 but I have a 5’8 wingspan. My weight adjusted calculator erg score for a 2k is a 7:02.1. Since I am only 117 lbs. My light weight in combination with my strength works to our advantage in our boats. I weigh less than most of our coxswains and pull like an open weight rower.
I started rowing fall 2018 and I fell in love with it. Not only the sport, but the team environment. I think if I was part of a collegiate rowing team, it would give me a connection to both the school and team. Rowing is what I am passionate about, and I want to continue to do what I love in college.
Out of the boat I am a patrol leader for the first Scout BSA Troop for girls in Wiliamsburg. My job is to organize weekly meetings, campouts, and a variety of activities. The all girl troop has 15 members I am responsible for helping work towards their eagle scout. I hope to have my Eagle by my junior year. In the boat I am frequently selected as stroke seat or which gives me an opportunity to lead the team .
I pursue healthy athletic performance by diversifying my workouts. I am a member of the Lafayette swim team, I love to rock climb, and I am an avid rower. I also like to run, but I am happiest in and on the water.
I have joined the Scounts BSA local troop for girls, I am working toward being one of the first female Eagle Scouts. I am a volunteer at the local humane society, I am an alter server at my church, and I visit residents monthly at a local retirement community named Spring Arbor. I love having the opportunity to give back, I am so lucky to have all of the opportunities that I do. I feel that since I am given so much it is my responsibility to give the equal amount back if not more.
