Personal Highlights

I may be 5’5”but I have a 5’8 wingspan. My light weight in combination with my strength works to our advantage in our boats. I weigh less than most of our coxswains and pull like an open weight rower.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I started rowing fall 2018 and I fell in love with it! Not only the sport, but the team environment. I think if I was part of a collegiate rowing team, it would give me a connection to both the school and team. Rowing is what I am passionate about, and I want to continue to do what I love in college.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Out of the boat, I am a patrol leader for the first Scout BSA Troop for girls in Wiliamsburg. My job is to organize weekly meetings, campouts, and a variety of activities. The all girl troop has 20 members I am responsible for helping to develop strong citizens and support them on their way towards their Eagle Scout. I hope to have my Eagle by my junior year. In the boat I am frequently selected as stroke seat which gives me an opportunity to lead the team. I also volunteer time at the boathouse cleaning and organizing team equipment supporting all of our rowers.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by diversifying my workouts. I am a member of the Lafayette swim team, I love to rock climb, and I am an avid rower. I also like to run, but I am happiest in and on the water. I maintain a healthy diet that helps me stay fit, yet keeps me happy. I also recognize a need for life balance with friends, school, family, and community in order to allow me to focus on my athletic goals.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have joined the Scouts BSA local troop for girls and I am working toward being one of the first female Eagle Scouts. I am a volunteer at the local humane society, I am an alter server at my church, and I visit residents monthly at a local retirement community named Spring Arbor. I love having the opportunity to give back, I am so lucky to have all of the opportunities that I do. I feel that since I am given so much it is my responsibility to give the equal amount back if not more. I love staying involved in my community.
