I am 5’5” but I have a 5’8 wingspan. My light weight in combination with my strength works to our advantage in our boats. I weigh less than most of our coxswains and pull like an open weight rower.
After a little over two years, I was awarded my Eagle Scout, being the first female in Williamsburg Virginia to obtain the honor.
I started rowing fall 2018 and I fell in love with it! I row all four seasons and thrive in the team environment. I think if I was part of a collegiate rowing team, it would give me a connection to both the school and team. Rowing is what I am passionate about, and I want to continue to do what I love in college.
Out of the boat, I am a patrol leader and founding member first all female Scout BSA Troop in Wiliamsburg. My job is to help organize weekly meetings, campouts, and a variety of activities. The all girl troop, as of May 2021, has 36 members I am responsible for helping to develop strong citizens and support them on their way towards their Eagle Scout. In the boat, I am frequently stroke seat which gives me an opportunity to lead the team. I also volunteer time at the boathouse cleaning and organizing team equipment supporting all of our rowers.
I pursue healthy athletic performance by diversifying my workouts. I am a member of the Lafayette swim team, I love to rock climb, and I am an avid rower. I also like to run, but I am happiest in and on the water. I also recognize a need for life balance with friends, school, family, and community in order to allow me to focus on my athletic goals.
I have joined the Scouts BSA local troop for girls and I have Earned my Eagle Scout in May of 2021. My project took over 150 hours and was done at my local VFW. I designed and built a US flag retirement drop box, a large bench for the members, and also landscaped around the grounds. I was an alter server at my church, and I visit residents monthly at a local retirement community named Spring Arbor. I love having the opportunity to give back to my community.
