2018 Heart of Texas - Gold Medal Women's Novice 4+ ; Silver Medal Women's Novice 4x

Rowing Additional

I started rowing August 1st, 2018 after seeing a recruiting poster on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. I first joined a small club, Rowing Club of the Woodlands, but loved rowing so much that I soon switched to the more competitive local team, Parati Competitive Rowing. My first regatta was the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, TN. We didn't medal, but it was so exciting to race the course. My second regatta, The Heart of Texas in Austin, my 4+ placed gold and the 4x placed silver! It is hard work, but I love the challenge!

Other Academic Information
iSchool High The Woodlands is a charter school in Conroe ISD in Conroe, Texas. It is a dual enrollment program on the campus of Lone Star College. Most of my course work is taken directly at Lone Star College and I will graduate with approximately 44 credit hours that I hope to transfer to my university degree program.

-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have volunteered on a community level since 2011. First with the Flags with Pride program placing nearly 2000 flags in our community for 6 patriotic holidays in the year. I have also helped community programs such as the non-profit Woodlands Art Council assisting with the annual Waterway Arts Festival. And currently as a prepare and server for Compassion United offering a meal for the homeless community in my area every 3rd Saturday.
