Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I enjoy the balance of my schedule between school and my sport. I have an extremely rigorous academic course-load with AP courses (science & English), and Honors classes (Chinese, history, and math). If I didn’t have the outlet of my daily practices, or time in the weight room, I begin to feel sluggish physically and mentally. I prefer to be active on both fronts, it’s a better balance for me personally.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Our rowing coach works directly with our weight room coach, developing a dietary handbook for the team each year. Because rowing is an extremely labor intensive sport, maintaining strength and building muscle is critical. The importance of thinking about what we put into our body and the impact of how it improves performance cannot be underestimated. Reminders about “Feeding the athletes” are sent out throughout the season, reminding us not to restrict caloric intake, but make sure they are “good” calories. We have also learned a tremendous amount about preventing injury and training methods to maintain and improve fitness.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
