To me playing sports while in school is second nature. Sports give me an opportunity to release stress from school and zone into bettering the team and myself in the process.
Outside of Track and Field, I am involved in Operation Snowball. Snowball is a leadership program that has helped me better my communication skills. As a staff member in Operation Snowball, I learned to effectively address problems or conflict. These skills I have learned from snowball have been a great contribution to me being a leader on the field as well.
As an athlete, it is essential that I eat good foods so I can stay energized all throughout the practice. I also try to consume plenty of water and take vitamins to ensure I am ready for the next meet or game.
Through my participation in National Honors Society, I have learned to truly love service. Within the club, we help out with the local elementary school with their different school-wide activities. Additionally, we promote community outreach and raise money for different charities. For me, this is extremely important because it has shaped me into the loving and caring person that I am today.
