Personal Highlights

I have been rowing for close to 3 years now! My first year was at Saugatuck Rowing Club (Skulling) (No erg workouts) The second year I rowed at Yale and Pomfret School on the JV team. My third year I made the 2nd boat and hopefully 1v next year! I can skull, Sweep and row on Port and Starboard. I played Tier 2 hockey in CT for a while then broke my leg and switched to rowing. I think it was a great choice and I have continued to meet new kids at regattas and learned hard work through tough workouts. I hope to improve over the next few seasons and hopefully row in college! I am a hard worker and more than willing to work for a spot.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

After playing sports like hockey and football I was tired of all the injuries. I just love going out to the boathouse ever day and rowing for 3 hours. When I compete with schools like Belmont Hill and Deerfield has really given me a grip on what rowing is all about.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was a form rep in our student senate for my freshman year at school, QUEST Leader for 2 years (Teaches Saturday classes on topics such as drugs and health & Wellness) and a dorm rep as well. I am currently perfecting in a freshman boys dorm which is a faculty elected position.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I tend to work out about 3-4 times a week on top of 6 practices a week plus races. I think a lot has to do with how I have been eating this year and how I have managed my time. It is hard but, the end result in the water is worthwhile to see.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have started my Junior year as a prefect in my dorm watching over freshman boys. I am also leading discussions and creating weekend classes to promote personal health and to educate my classmates on Juul. In my past, I represented my dorm in student senate and dorm senate. I'm not afraid of work and I think these roles are a reflection of that my grades are as well and doing 3 sports a year while all of this has been going on.
