I play clarinet in a jazz combo band I enjoy painting and drawing. I volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and also the Angel Fund for ALS. This summer I am interning with Beneath the Waves in Chatham MA tagging sharks.
I have been playing ice hockey since I was 4 years old. It has helped me become a confident person on and off the ice. I want to continue to play in college because ice hockey is a huge part of my life. I have been playing since I was 4 years old. I have met some wonderful people and had fantastic coaches.
I have been the captain of the cross country team for 2 years. I was falling behind due to cramping in my leg and I was pushing through the pain but was struggling. I kept my head up and encouraged my team to keep running. My mom always says you don’t have to have a “C” on your jersey to be a leader. A leader who is someone is selfless and committed.
I am a very committed athlete. I eat well, workout and make sure I balance my homework load and extra curricular activities as to make sure I get proper rest.
I have been involved with The Angel Fund Organization since I was very young. This Fund is based out of Massachusetts General Hospital and raises millions of dollars to find a cure for ALS. I started volunteering by having g bake sales with my sister in my neighborhood. I also volunteer at the road race each year and am proud to say the race is going in its 25th year. After set up is done, I actually participate in the run and have come in 1st places in my age group. For the past 3 years. I run a 6.9 mile and truly enjoy this race. As I run I think about all the people who cannot run due to this debilitating disease. My family has lost 3 dear friends to this horrific disease.
I also am a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. Here I help build houses for the less fortunate.
