Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Throughout high school, I have had many opportunities to serve my local community. Serve Camp is a week-long camp dedicated to serving the needy in our community. In this camp, we built a community garden to provide access to free fruits and vegetables to those around us that cannot afford them at a grocery store. We also spent the week doing other projects to serve the community. One Community Day is a day once a year that people from our school sign up for various projects to better our community. For example, in 2017 we helped to paint signs and markers around the local soccer park, and this past year we helped pull weeds surrounding a local pond. Jeans for Teens is a jean drive run by the National Honor Society at our school where we helped to bring in jeans of all sizes and get them to teens in our area that are in need. Messiah's Market is the food pantry run by our school, and we regularly volunteer to sort, stack, and distribute the goods donated to the people that come in. I am also able to provide services for my school. Each year our school has two plays, and I regularly volunteer for 40 hours of those weeks to help run sound, lights and design the set. Bingo Night is run by our school a couple of nights a year where I help to set up the tables and run the games and concessions for the families that attend. I also volunteer to run our church nursery for babies and infants during the main service on Sundays. I love to help my local community because it is a simple and needed way to connect with those in need around me. Using a platform of providing needed items to these people, I can then continue to share the Gospel and the hope of a life with Jesus.
