Hi! My name is Kylee Levin and I have been diving for since my freshman year of high school, leaving gymnastics after 12 years. My true goal in my search for a college is to find a school that will push me, while allowing me to continue to grow as an athlete, student, and person. I want to dive in college because this sport is something that I am extremely passionate about and I hope to find a coach that will help me channel and apply that passion to a collegiate diving career. As far as training goes, year-round, I am used to double practices with weight lifting in the morning before school and pool time in the evening. During college I would like to study animal science on a pre-veterinary track and continue to veterinary school after earning an undergraduate degree.
Being able to be involved the linkcrew leadership class/organization on campus has given me the opportunity to participate with my peers in putting on school activities that promote positive school culture and inclusivity through events like the freshman banana split, Renaissance (3.5 gpa+) carnival, kindness week, dances, and many other things celebrating student involvement academic achievement.
Given that each of my parents are public servants (both work as firefighters), I have been raised to understand the value of altruism and supporting my community through positive impact. Starting in 2015 I have been off and on volunteering with the Central Coast Aquarium which is located on a beach front in my area giving the younger population in our community access to experience marine life in an educational environment. I also spend my weekends during the winter working as a volunteer ski patroller at China peak ski resort. This activity allows me to combine my love for skiing with interest in the medical field while helping others. When the opportunity comes up to help with miscellaneous events in the area, I readily participate because of the valuable connections it makes and impact it has for all. Helping at things like creek/beach clean ups, school functions, and town wide events are some of my favorite events to contribute time to.
