Going to college is a scary thing for me, I am leaving a very tight nit close community. Joining a sport in college while give me a community to join where I know I will be welcomed and comfortable. I also love the sports I play and want to play them as long as I can.
I have been given the title of captain of multiple sports teams that I am involved in and because of that I have organized team bonding activities and lead by example on how an athlete should hold herself.
My school assigns 3-4 hours of homework a night, while some of the assignments are not due until two or three days away. I try to finish as much homework as I can on the day it is assigned or follow a schedule for getting it done. Along with balancing school work and sports practices an athlete also needs to maintain a healthy body. I usually get seven to eight hours of sleep and eat healthy with my family. On days I do not have sports practices I try my best to either do cardio or lifting.
As a practicing Catholic going to such a small school working with and for the community is very important. For my high school I have organized dances, orientation events for freshmen, bonding experiences, and fun activities throughout the school year. I also volunteer at fundraisers for organizations such as Ag4youth, assisted living homes and others.
