Burgos was arguably the top overall outfielder at the event showing athleticism in everything he did beginning with his 6.87 60 yard dash that left our scouts immediately wanting more. In the outfield he uses that speed to beat balls to the spot before unleashing his big, accurate arm. His approach is short to the ball with extension through resulting in some present power that projects for the future. Burgos should have a chance to be seen quite a bit this spring playing on a loaded Huntington Beach team.
1/5/2019 - SoCal Preseason All State - 5-foot-11, 165-pounds. Has a medium frame, strong, athletic, and young body that should continue to add strength.Started the day by running a 6.87 60-yard dash. At the plate operates from a slightly open stance, with weight on his back leg, and a very simple load. Has a level and compact swing, showing some flashes of power that projects for more consistent power in the future. Has a good up the middle approach. From the outfield he registered a velo of 91 MPH good for the best of the day. He has a shorter motion, ¾ arm angle, making accurate throws with life and carry. He has soft hands, clean exchanges, and plays through balls athletically. He has impressive footwork beating the ball to the spot and getting behind ball which helped him make accurate and strong throws. Highly athletic player.
1/5/19 - SoCal Preseason All-State Quick Hits - Burgos showed why many college coaches are eager to see him this spring. Started the day by running a 6.87 60 yard dash before putting on a hitting display during batting practice. His right-handed swing shows some sneaky power and projection with his middle-middle approach and present pull side power. It was in the outfield where his athleticism really came out. His footwork was impressive as he routinely beat the ball to the spot and came up in perfect throwing position where he unleashed his big arm - 91 mph OF velo - that was accurate to third and home.
I love baseball. Want to continue playing. I feel I have the ability and work ethic to play at the collegiate level.
I believe leading by example is the first step. Being a mentor to my brother has taught me how to be a better leader.
By striving to be better every day. Work on my 60-hitting-throwing and physically being better. Setting goals.
I volunteer for community improvement projects. I helped renovate Lacey Park in Hanford by painting the basketball fields and reinforcing the back stop at the softball fields. It was a project we had to get approved by the city.
my classmates and I were granted approval after presenting our plan at a city council meeting. We were granted funding to complete the pathway project.
