I want to be recruited to play sports in college because I enjoy putting forth the hard work to become a better athlete each day. I want to become an even faster runner and reach goals that I have set for myself. I would also love to be recruited because of the friendships that I can make from being on a sports team.
As an upperclassman, it's important to make sure that my younger teammates are comfortable and welcomed on our team. I make sure to include new or younger runners in team activities, as well as getting to know them better. I want to make sure that they aren't alone and have plenty of other friends to help them get better as an athlete. Besides practice, I show leadership skills when I train a new coworker at my part time job. Again, I want them to understand all the responsibilities of the job and make them feel comfortable in this new environment. I know what it's like to be new and unfamiliar to a sport or job so I want to make others feel welcome and comfortable as well!
I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete by continuing my training during the off seasons and making sure I get proper nutrition by eating certain foods.
I'm a member of Key Club at my school and in this club I've earned money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America through fundraising and I also participated in the semi-annual blood drive by donating goods. My efforts in helping the community are really important to me because I was able to help those who need it the most!
