Rowing Additional

I have completed five seasons of rowing in my four years competing, which will become five seasons during the fall. In addition to training with the McLean High School crew team, I also row for TBC Racing during the summer and fall. This past winter was the first year I had participated in winter conditioning, as I was previously on my school's basketball team, where I was able to drop over 30 seconds off of my 2k. I believe I have a lot of potential to go even further and hope to demonstrate that during indoor training this year, as well as on the water.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Sports help me stay on top of my work through helping me manage my time as well as my stress. I love everything about rowing from getting as fit as I can to the community it provides. I can’t imagine giving that up.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Volunteering and helping the people around me is extremely important. This past year alone I completed over 100 hours of community service, most of which has come in tutoring kids in stem fields as well as raising money for different organizations and clubs within and outside of my school.
