Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love track and cross country and have enjoyed them very much throughout my high school years and hope to perform at the college level to run competitively with a team and push myself to excellence.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have led my cross country team in drill exercises and stretches before and after races as well as during practice.

I have taught and assisted art classes to 5 year olds on up to adults.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Being a driven athlete wanting to compete to the best of my ability, I do all I can to stay healthy for performances, including eating carb and protein loaded foods before race day, drinking plenty of water and getting a good nights rest.

Regarding the mental aspect of performance, I aim to keep a positive outlook towards race day. Even knowing I’ll be racing against high level competition, I tell myself to focus on competing to the best of my ability, instead of placement.

Overall I consider healthy athletic performance to be staying positive, energized, keeping a healthy level of competitiveness, and focusing on achieving your personal best.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
