As a level 7 gymnast at Summit Gymnastics, I began diving in 8th grade and continued through 9th grade. My 8th grade year I placed 3rd at ECICs, and in both years, placed in the top 15 at Sectionals. After these two years, I stopped diving and decided to commit my time to gymnastics in hopes of becoming a college gymnast. I switched to a higher intensity gym and I am now a level 9 gymnast at Stumpfs Gymanstics. However, last season I injured my right ankle several times and decided I did not want to do college gymnastics anymore. Due to this, in July, I realized it could be a good opportunity for me to come back to diving. Now, I am committing most of my time to diving while still competing as a level 9.
I began diving this year again in the middle of July (2019), and had my first meet on September 7th. My first meet was a swimming and diving invitational in Frewsberg, NY, with 18 divers. There, I placed 2nd with a 222.05 (6 dives). This past week, I had two more meets. On Tuesday (9/17/19), I broke our pool record (previously a 219) with a 224.65. Then lastly, on Friday (9/20/19), I rebroke that record and also broke the varisity record (previously a 232) with a 236.85!
I had my last 6 dive meet of the season last Tuesday (10/8/19) and broke the varsity record again with a 251.85!
