MVP of High School Team in 2019-2020. Prior to Covid, which cancelled the rest of our ILH High School golf season, I shot 72 and finished in the Top 7 during the first event of the season (as a Sophomore).
At age 12, I met Scott Simpson and had my first lesson with him. Scott moved back to Hawaii and has played on the PGA and Champions Tour for over 40 years. Scott has been a fantastic coach and an even better mentor! I have learned so much about how to handle tournament situations and we play a lot of matches against each other where he teaches me strategy on the course. Over the past 2 years, I have grown 6+ inches and 40 pounds, which has been fun for gaining more yards off the tee and overall strength. This also comes with fine tuning my swing to match my body as well as changing clubs/shafts, etc. My game continues to improve from a 5-7 index in 2019, to my current 0.7 index (December 2020). Most recently, during the first round of the HSJGA match play tournament in July 2020, I was 5 under par through 13 holes, to win 7 and 5. I know I will continue to build on this momentum as we are able to play more tournaments in Hawaii (hopefully soon).
I compete in Varsity Cross Country Running during the Fall, Surf team during the Winter and Varsity Golf during the Spring. I am also a member of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association and Oahu Junior Golf Association, which have tournaments year round.
I hope to find a college that can help me develop as an athlete and a student. I enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team and sharing a passion for Golf.
National Junior Honor Society member, French Honor Society member, Oahu Junior Golf League "Members choice award recipient".
I believe in having a good attitude in every sport I play. I always strive to do my best and be competitive at the top level as well as being a good example to my teammates and the community of good sportsmanship and strong work ethics.
