Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Playing sports in college will offer me opportunities that I might not have. I also believe it will keep me disciplined and organized. I really have enjoyed the team atmosphere and regiment of rowing. I have made many close friends and having a common sport opened many doorways for me.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I try and help the local youth at a homeless shelter ranging in ages from 5 to 19 with academics but also social skills, mentoring and support. I have been a vacation bible school leader and counselor for 5 years. I am a Boy Scout in Troop. I was selected as a member of the S.T.A.T.E. program at Avalon Park. I assist in regional environmental protection and conservation. I was also selected and participated in the Avalon Park leadership survival program. I established a Youth Group at North Shore Methodist Church for at risk youths and provided suicide prevention programs after multiple suicides and deaths in our district. I am a Natural Helper at my high school and part of ACT NOW.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I have lost 40 pounds and have changed my dietary habits to a healthier lifestyle. I do not drink alcohol, smoke or vape. My passion is being outdoors and healthy living. I try to set these examples for my friends and little brother.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I began a Homework Help program for children in a local homeless shelter. My program is in it's 2nd year and I have recruited 9 students to tutor the kids weekly. We tutor an average of 12 children a week.
