Rowing Additional

I began rowing as a 7th grader after a few learn-to-row camps and started volunteering for a local Masters program soon after which I continued up until my novice year as a freshman for the Inglemoor HS/Northshore School District Team. The NSD had just started a crew program so I am really proud of how well our team did in its first year racing against so many competitive and established club and high school teams in the Seattle area, especially considering our entire team was novice! Making it into the Finals of the Womens 2 Novice 8+ at the Northwest Championships and earning a 4th place finish against tough competition was a true highlight. My sophomore year I made the difficult decision to switch teams so that I could really learn how to be a better cox and to race more competitively. Now at Sammamish Rowing Association, I cox for the experienced girls team and volunteer as a coxswain for their mens and womens masters team too. Unfortunately with Covid-19 we had an abbreviated season, however I have been keeping fit with dry land work outs, analyzing my tapes, and will be rowing small boats this summer at SRA until I can get back into the coxswain seat this coming Fall. I have also participated in the following camps/programs over the last couple of years:

  • Attended Pocock Rowing Foundations Developmental Program June 17 -July 29, 2019, coxed, plus rowed in small boats
  • Volunteered for Sammamish Rowing Association's middle school summer program August 2019 as cox and camp counselor
  • Novice year as part of Inglemoor High School (Northshore School District) program, coxswain for Varsity 4+ and 8+, Fall 2018-Spring 2019
  • Attended Sammamish Rowing Association's middle school summer program July 2018, coxswain
  • Volunteered for Kenmore Rowing Club masters program, coxswain, March 2016 -November 2017
