I have been swimming with Southern Crescent Aquatic Team for so long, that I consider them part of my family. I would love to find a college that offers my degree and be able a team that has family dynamic as well. Since I have been swimming all my life, I can't imagine not swimming in college. I am a huge team player and always take an opportunity to contribute to the team
As a Freshman and a Sophomore I helped lead my high school team varsity swim team to county champions. My relay team earned 1st place in the county in 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay. In addition I earned 1st place in both the 200IM and the 100 free to help contribute points for our team. This summer I coached a city rec. swim team to help young, aspiring swimmers learn proper stroke technique and to prepare them to compete in summer swim meets. Some of the kids I coached even decided to join the year round swim team.
One thing I am very proud of (and my coaches have always been proud of me for) is being humble. It isn't in my nature to be arrogant or brag about my swim or academic success. I am a team player and would rather help my team succeed than to make sure I had the spot light. I have balanced my swim with high school academics because I realize that my academics are also important in my future career.
Between the year round swim and the high school swim I try to find time to help out at our Mid-west food bank and with community service projects through Beta Club, National Spanish Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
