Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play sports in college because there’s nothing more in life that I want to do than play golf. To play golf in college would be a dream come true for me. Ever since I could stand, I’ve played golf. Being able to attend a school and get a good education, while at the same time being able to compete against other students in golf, would be an amazing thing for me.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Being a leader on the field, for me in golf, is my constant joking around with teammates when I see them during the round. I prefer to loosen things up for my teammates in order to relax them. Golf is supposed to be fun, and I try my best to make it so. For off the field, I enjoy being the one in charge, I like to set up practices in the off-season and invite my teammates, as well as freshmen, to come and practice so that we can be the best we can be when the season comes.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I’ve definitely pursued “healthy athletic performance” in the past few years in my golf game. At lunch during the school year I will refrain from unhealthy lunches, and I prefer to eat salads. Also, I recently gave up drinking all soft drinks. Outside of school, I enjoy running and everyday, even during the winter, I bike for 1 hour. I really feel that if I can get in better shape, I will more than likely become a better golfer.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

For service for my community, I take great pride in giving both my time and support to what other organizations do. I have taken time to help out at packaging day for Operation Others and I help support some of their goals. I’ve also helped make blankets for kids down at the Children’s Hospital in Omaha and I’ve helped out at the Heart Ministry Center here in Omaha. Also, I signed up for Sociology Workshop here at Prep, and I was happy to have gotten the opportunity to spend a full semester helping kids at a local grade school. It was really nice being able to help kids with problems that I might have struggled with in the past.
